INGREDIENTS:
- Mutton - 750mg
- Oil - 3 tbsp/chamach
- Onion - 1
- Ginger and garlic paste - 1 tsp
- Red chilly powder - 2 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder - 2 tsp
- Tomato - 4
- Tamarind - little
- Coconut grinder - 2 chamach
- Green chilly - 2
- Coriander leaf
- Channa dal - 2 handfuls (soak in water for an hour)
- Salt to taste
- Bottle gourd/ Kaddu - 1 medium size.
DIRECTION:
- Take oil in a pan, then add onion saute well.
- Add Ginger and garlic paste, saute well for 30 secs.
- Then add Turmeric powder and red chilly powder saute well, add mutton to it and mix well.
- Let it cook for a minute at high flame.
- Add tomato paste, let it cook 30 secs.
- Now add coriander powder, salt to taste, tamarind juice, coconut paste and green chilly.
- Then add 500 ml of water and soaked Channa dal mix well.
- Let it cook for 20 minutes at low flame.
- After 20 minutes check if the meat is cooked soft. If not add some water and let it cook for another 20 minutes.
- Once the meat becomes soft, add some water and add bottle gourd/ Kaddu and let it cook for 10 minutes at low flame.
- Now spicy mutton is ready to serve.
NOTE:
- If you want to try cooking in a pressure cooker the cook for 6 whistles and after that cook in low flame for 1o mins.
- The taste will differ in gravy that you cook in pressure cooker and pan. Try to cook in either of this and let me know how it came for you.
