INGREDIENTS FOR BUTTER CHICKEN:
FOR CHICKEN MARINADE:
- Chicken- 1/4kg
- Ginger and garlic paste- 1/2 tsp
- Chicken masala- 1tsp
- Red chilly powder- 1/2 tsp
- Salt- to taste.
- Lemon juice- 1 tsp
FOR SAUCE:
- Oil- 3 tsp
- Curry leaf
- Cardamom- 2
- Cinnamon- 2
- Onion- 3(medium size)
- Tomato- 3(medium size)
- Green chilly- 3
- Ginger and garlic paste- 2 tsp
- Chicken masala- 2 tsp
- Red chilly powder- 1 tsp
- Black pepper- 1/2 tsp
- Sugar- 1 tsp
- Salt -to taste.
- Tomato sauce- 2 tsp
- Kasuri methi- 1 tsp
- Bay leaf- 2
- Coriander leaf
- Butter- 30g
- Cheese- 2 cubes
DIRECTION FOR CHICKEN MARINADE:
- In a bowl, take a chicken combine with all the ingredients for the marinade, let marinate set aside for an hour (or overnight if time allows).
- Take oil in a pan over a high flame, add chicken pieces, fry the chicken for a minute (30 sec each side), you can finish cooking the chicken is the sauce.
DIRECTION FOR TOMATO MIX
- Take Deseeded Tomato(3), Onion(2), and Green chilly(2). Grind well, now your Tomato mix is ready.
DIRECTION FOR SAUCE:
- Take oil in a pan in high flame, when sizzling add cinnamon, cardamom, curry leaves, onion(1) chopped, and ginger and garlic paste stir for a min let it bind well.
- Now add chicken masala, red chilly powder stir and add chicken and mix well.
- Now add tomato mixture to it and mix well, leave it for 2 min in high flame.
- Reduce the flame medium, add black pepper, sugar, tomato sauce, salt, Kasuri mehthi, bay leaf, add 200 ml water to it, mix well cook for 5 mins.
- Add butter to it, after 5min add cheese and mix well.
- leave for 15 min in low flame for dhum.
- now your butter chicken is ready,
- Garnish with coriander leaf and serve hot and enjoy the silky smooth butter chicken with naan bread or rumali roti.
