WHAT IS CARROT HALWA/GAJAR KA HALWA?
Carrot halwa is one of the traditional and classic indian sweet. It is made on special occasions like festivals, marriage, functions etc. It is one of the oldest dessert made using carrot, milk, sugar and nuts. Carrot halwa is made using Delhi red carrot because it is tender and juicy, we can use any carrot orange,red but make sure they are fresh.
INGREDIENTS:-
1) Carrot - 1/2kg
2) Sugar - 250g
3) Khoya - 150g
4) Milk - 1 cup
5) Cardamom - 2
6) Cinnamon stick - 2
7) Ghee - 1tbsp
DIRECTIONS:-
HOW TO MAKE CARROT HALWA?
- Peel the skin of the carrot and finely grate them.
- Take grated carrot into the pan.
- Add milk to the pan.
- Add cardamom and cinnamon and close the lid of the pan.
- Cook it under low flame for 10mins
- Add khoya and sugar to the mixer and grind it.
- Add the mixture to the pan and mix well.
- Cook till the carrot halwa becomes thick.
- Roast the nuts in ghee to garnish carrot halwa.
